I prefer to add this to water so that I can barely taste the tincture. It has a mild herbal taste, not bitter or nasty. I use skullcap along with lemon balm and passion flower as night time sleep-help for anxiety. This Skullcap is the American version (as compared to Chinese Skullcap) and the packaging says it's 3rd party tested, is vegan-friendly, and only contains organic skullcap, glycerin and water. No sugar or alcohol. That surprised me, as the flavor is sweeter than I anticipated. Skullcap is usually a little bitter and odd tasting. The company (based in Los Angeles) has many different interests and sub-companies for all kinds of products, the most recent being a supplement and herbal company; Their trademark was just registered in August 2023. So far I only find them sold on Amazon. So, still too new to research them very deeply. Without using the product for an entire month or more, long term, it's difficult to judge how well it works, but short term, seems fine. No adverse effects.

As it is a glycerite, it tastes pleasantly sweet which makes it easy to take as-is or add it to a beverage. Before getting this, I had never heard of skullcap before. I was looking for something to help with my nerves without having to take extra medication, and this was mentioned in the research I did as a natural supplement for nerve health. I got it, and I did have to get used to taking supplements in liquid form, but the taste isn't too bad. I've been taking it for a while now, and I do feel good about taking it, since it's a good quality and is natural vs. a chemically-altered medication. I think it's doing well so far, and so I'm happy with it.

I can't detect any change to the flavor of my tea, a big plus! It helps me sleep better, and may have other health benefits. Don't use this along with any other sleep aids though, and if you take prescription medicines, be sure to check with your doctor before using. All natural doesn't mean it's always OK.

Skullcap is known to have many health benefits but the main reason I wanted to try this tincture is because I read Skullcap is good for helping one fall asleep. I personally take one dropper full directly in my mouth under the tongue and let it sit for about 1/2 minute. The liquid is slightly sweet and slightly herbal in taste. It's a tad syrupy. With one dropper full I personally feel tired at bedtime and sleep through the night. So for me it works to help me sleep and I also get the other health benefits. One thing to take note of, is I have read from a few sources it's best to not take melatonin and other sleep aids along with skullcap. I have not tested this to find out. BIO KRAUTER manufacture this product in a GMP certified facility and it's independently tested. The quality of this tincture appears to be very high.

What I like: The product arrived in fresh condition and I could read the best-by date fairly easily, and I am highly satisfied that it has a good date. I tried it by itself and it tastes just fine, but I always dispense my tinctures into some juice, anyway, so the juice always masks any taste, good or bad. I like the consistent function of the dropper, as it always seems to dispense roughly the same amount of liquid in each dosing. I only take small amounts of this particular herbal tincture, as it can cause drowsiness and slowed breathing, and the scientific data indicates that it can interact with certain medications especially those taken for hypertension. What I don't like: There's nothing I don't like about the product. I would likely order this item again.

Skullcap is something I have not tried before. It is reputed to help reduce inflammation and that would be a very good thing for me. It's alcohol and sugar free. Easy to measure a dose. Taste is OK; no bad effects like reflux. Will see how it goes with some time and update if amazing or disappointing. Right now, believe it will help.

I find it difficult to explain a flavor since a dropperful isn't enough to get a good taste. I have not used it in water or juice, but I doubt it would be very noticeable. I’ve had skullcap tea previously and it made me feel relaxed. I thought I’d like this glycerin based tincture. It has a mild taste that’s easily diluted in water (I do not recommend juice, but hiding it in a smoothie is also an option). It does provide a relaxing effect, in the same way any relaxing tea would. The bonus here is that you can take this on the go, not worry about prep either bc it can be dropped right into water or taken sublingually. Overall, it’s helped me feel calmer and I’ve added it to my bedtime routine. I just feel calmer.

I have always loved skullcap as an herb and this extract is extremely high-quality! You can tell the company really cares about making good products. This is alcohol free and boasts a very high absorption rate. I love the gentle and sweet taste, and the dropper itself is quality too. It is a larger bottle with a larger dropper and it generally sucks up a consistently-sized dose, which is very helpful! It doesn’t have lines with dosages and amounts marked like some supplement droppers do, but that’s fine for me! This is really easy to take using the included dropper, and actually doesn't taste bad at all to me - and I'm pretty picky. I guess it's the glycerine in it that makes it sweet - but I can take it easily by mouth with no issues without diluting it, which is great. I don't get any digestive issues or weird aftertastes in my mouth afterwards when I take it right before bedtime - so far, so good! According to health benefits times and other herbal sources, the Skullcap herb may have antioxidant effects, may help calm nerves, may treat fever, and may have a synergistic effect that helps other herbs and supplements be better absorbed. It also may help relax the body and mind and by that, it may help sleep. I'll be taking the skullcap at night to see if it helps me sleep better. I chose the BioKrauter brand because they use organic skullcap and organic vegetable glycerin. The only other ingredient is purified water. The BioKrauter products so far all seem to be organic and free of 'other ingredients'. I may have a new favorite 'go to' source for my glycerite 'tinctures'.

I take skullcap sparingly and I like to take it with Kava when I do. I find this combo is helpful when I'm feeling wired or can't turn my brain off.
